AP简介
AP课程，AP stands for Advanced Placement,是美国大学理事会（The College Board）在高中阶段开设的具有大学水平的课程，主要适合计划在美国就读本科的高中生学习。AP课程的难度相当于大学一年级的课程，通过AP考试可以获得大学学分。同时也可以提高你在高中的GPA成绩。
孩子如果选择美制高中学制，那么你不参加AP课程，你肯定也是可以正常高中毕业，AP课程是提供给高中学有余力的学生学习，并不是高中毕业的必修课。
AP课程，并不是美制高中的专利，其实可以嫁接到任何的高中课程上，例如
- 英制的A-level （General Certificate of Education Advanced Level ）
- IB高中文凭课程 IBDP（International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme）
- 加拿大安省的OSSD（Ontario Secondary School Diploma）高中文凭课程
- 中国高中课程和高考
为了提升学生自己的大学申请的竞争力，也开始考AP课程。很多高校也需要各种标化考试成绩来对学生能力进行横向对比。
上面的高中课程，有一个地方差异很大，
- 加拿大安省的OSSD这个高中课程是没有统考的。
- 美制高中，也是没有统考，都是通过类似GPA，把日常上课的科目考试进行打分。
- 英制的A-level，IB高中文凭课程 IBDP，是有统考。
